Wildlife Crime: The Djibouti Code and Its Implications

Abstract
The Djibouti Code is a key instrument in dealing with piracy in Africa. This article reviews the benefits and challenges of the Jeddah Amendment in reenergising the efforts to deal with wildlife trafficking in Africa, by analyzing its provisions. The aim of this article is to provide a review of the provisions of the Code, in relation to wildlife transnational organized crime in the maritime domain, specifically wildlife crimes. Specifically, this article aims at contributing to the debate on how the Code can influence and re-energetise the efforts of dealing with wildlife crimes in Africa and its implications.
